CHLA Environmental Portrait Series

For this portrait series, I art directed a collection of environmental images highlighting physicians, researchers, and clinical leaders across Children’s Hospital Los Angeles.

The goal was to move beyond traditional headshots and create portraits that felt cinematic, credible, and human. Each setup was built around the subject’s real environment — operating rooms, imaging suites, labs, and clinical spaces — using lighting, composition, and background detail to connect each person to the work they lead.

The direction balanced warmth and authority, creating a flexible portrait library that could support editorial stories, service line marketing, web content, donor communications, and campaign materials.
