heart institute stock library

This project focused on the art direction and creation of a cohesive library of photography and b-roll for generic and pediatric cardiology at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles. The goal was to establish a consistent, authentic visual language that could support the Heart Institute’s storytelling across a wide range of platforms, as well as additional imagery that can be used for various applications.

Visual direction prioritized natural moments, honest interactions, and environmental context, balancing clinical precision with warmth and humanity. Both still and moving imagery were intentionally composed to feel unobtrusive and real, while remaining flexible enough to be used across digital, print, and campaign applications.

The imagery from this shoot was intentionally art directed to function as an evergreen visual library, allowing it to be used across a wide range of applications over the past several years. While originally created for the Heart Institute, many of the assets were flexible enough to support additional departments and broader CHLA storytelling needs.

From booth graphics and retractable banners to the CHLA.org homepage and blog content, the imagery was designed to remain consistent, adaptable, and relevant–supporting both high-visibility moments and everyday communications across the organization.
